"Zappeln"
"Zappeln," in German, means "to wriggle." This project is modeled after European swords from the Crusades.
The whole piece was constructed from mahogany. All shaping and joinery done with hand tools; no power tools were used. Major shaping was accomplished with rasps and files, while the fitting of the guard to the main body was achieved with chisels. The grip was finished with wood stain and polyurethane; otherwise, the piece is painted with a metallic oil paint.
